I am honored to be a part of the Atlanta Children’s Shelter’s new housing program. The Shelter is a sub-grantee of the HPRP grant provided by HUD. As a result, Atlanta Children’s Shelter began designing a new housing program in addition to existing services provided. The program is entitled Keys to Independence. I am a new social services case manager with ACS, but no stranger to assisting with housing needs. Homelessness is an increasing issue in the Atlanta community. The Keys to Independence program will work consistently by preparing families with tenant education, budgets/money management tools, rental assistance, utility assistance, and much more! We, ACS, will act as a sound support system seeking to remove homelessness from families within ACS one household at a time! So, I am pledging to provide the best possible housing services to our clients. My primary goals are toassist clients in becoming self sufficient, maintain and stabilize housing, and establish necessary survival skills.
